I am a smoker, plan on giving them up at the start of April and I dont eat meat,I occasionally eat fish, eat a healthy enough diet though. I am prone to headcolds and can get very tierd after a days work, I am 24 and feel like 44. I dont have any weight problems and I excercise quite often, im just sick of feeling tierd and run down. What vitamin suppliments should I be taking? is there any natural suppliments to take to support a healthy immune system?

The number one supplement to start taking is a good quality Multi vitamin. This gives a balance of nutrients that your body needs And to support the immune system. I also recommend Co Q10 100mg in soft gel form this boosts energy and the immune system. Because you have been smoking you should take an extra 1,000mg of vitamin C.

Whole grains, seeds, nuts, yogurt, chicken, Turkey, organic beef, tofu, beans, eggs, natural cheese, cottage cheese, vegetables and fruits should form the base of your diet. Protein should be the building block of nutrition. Consuming fruits and vegetables in their most natural form provides the most minerals and vitamins. Green vegetables provide incredible minerals that our body needs to help absorb vitamins as well as necessary fiber. Fresh fruit provides minerals, fiber and natural waters that are absorbed on a cellular level.

As a physician that has an alternative medicine practice, I recommend what amounts to a retraining or rethinking how most of us were taught to eat. I start with cutting out processed foods such as white bread and noodles and relacing them all with whole grain breads, noodles, long grain rice yams and similar high fiber unprocessed whole grain foods. Greatly reduce processed sugars. Little to no soda, candies cakes cookies and sweets. these are occasional treats.

Protein should provide the basis for your good nutrition. I love turkey tacos, and other low fat meats. I often supplements with protein supplement in the form of whey protein (EAS supplements 6 pounds for 22.50 at sams club) because I am actively trying to gain muscle, but its a great foundation for all.

As for supplementation one needs a source of omega three essential fatty acids. I recommend a plant source for these as the fish sources all tend to have at least SOME mercury in them. They are not expensive one can get them at wall mart for less than 15 dollars a month. Decreasing the sources of omega 6 fatty acids is important. Less red meats more white meats and fish.

Then an excellent once a day vitamin supplement. I take Symmetry products Ultra Vitality, It has all the vites and minerals as well as antioxidants, energy blend, with way more than I can list here.

Symmetry also makes an excellent immune bolstering product with ginko, Gotu Kola nut, a mushroom blend all in one product its called Immunity.

the most important however is the actual lifestyle change and the omega 3 s that one can get most anywhere. tie that in with exercise and good hydration. This barely scratches the surface, so go educate yourself and eat for health, not for disease.

It sounds like your immune system may be weak. You should consider taking a whole food multi vitamin and ionic organic minerals also an immune booster.Visit. The supplements you should look at are Nutra Maxxxx,UltraBioMinn andSenSatiaFruit. My family takes all of these products. They are clinically proven to work. For your information most vitamins sold are synthetic.Your body only recognizes food nutrients, the rest are rejected as waste.Spend your $$$$ carefully.

I started taking blue-green algae (Upper Klammath Lake, OR) as they are supposed to support immune system. I feel like I have more energy also. I’ve been taking CO Q10 and vitamin E, as mentioned in one of the above answers.

Hope this helps a little. There really are so many things that you can take for your immune system. The only way to learn is to do the research yourself. People can tell you things, but only you know how you feel and how each herb or vitamin makes you feel.
